The opportunity

We are looking for an engaged and experienced control engineer to support our expanding team of engineers working with the climate system design of HVDC stations. The climate system is essential to facilitate safe and reliable operation of the HVDC station. The increased installed base of projects as well as the large number of parallel ongoing projects means an increased need for control competence within the climate system design department. You will work closely with the climate system designers ensuring alignment between intended functionality and actual implementation. In this role, you will work with the development, configuration, and verification of control and protection functions for HVDC installations. Programming is performed in graphical function block environments for real-time systems, where you build logic for regulation, monitoring, and protection.

How you’ll make an impact 

  • Simulate, test, and verify functions of climate system in a laboratory environment  
  • Participate in system testing, factory system tests (FST), and commissioning at site 
  • Troubleshoot and improve control logic and functionality  
  • Document functions and system solutions  
  • Reviewing and updating implementation of intended functionality for climate system. 
  • Proactively working with future climate system control solutions making sure the climate system control is aligned with overall functionality. 
  • Increase the quality of the deliveries by ensuring the end-to-end process for the climate system is implemented in all phases all the way to commissioning. 
     

Your background 

  • Degree in Electrical Power Engineering, Automation, Control Systems, Electronics, or equivalent.
  • Experience with control and protection systems in power or industrial applications.
  • Strong interest in control systems, control theory, and real-time systems.
  • Site commissioning experience for control and protection systems.
  • Excellent English communication skills; Swedish is an advantage.
  • Broad understanding of control and protection functionality and power system operations.
  • Knowledge of wiring, cabling, terminals, connectors, and electrical installation requirements.
  • Experience with Modbus, HMI development, graphical function block programming (e.g., HiDraw), and HVDC systems is a plus.
