Clinical Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and experiencedClinical Specialist to support a UK-based employer within their medical division.

This role is ideal for a South African professional with a strong clinical or medical background, excellent communication skills, and confidence working directly with healthcare professionals.

The successful candidate will provideon-site clinical support, product training and education to surgeons, nurses and hospital teams. You will also work closely with the sales team to support product adoption, strengthen customer relationships and contribute to overall business growth.

This is ahybrid, sales-focused role combining clinical support with business development. The successful candidate must be based inJohannesburg and comfortable working directly with surgeons, doctors, hospital teams and healthcare decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support during surgical procedures.
• Generate new business
• Deliver product demonstrations and training to surgeons, nurses and hospital staff.
• Build strong relationships with doctors, surgeons and Key Opinion Leaders.
• Drive sales and increase product adoption within the Johannesburg market.
• Generate new leads and business opportunities independently.
• Conduct face-to-face sales meetings with healthcare professionals.
• Provide technical guidance on medical devices, particularlywound closure and sutures.
• Work closely with the wider sales team to support business growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree inBiomedical Engineering, Nursing, Life Sciences, Healthcare or a related field.
• 3–7 years' Clinical Specialist experience within medical devices.
• Strong experience withwound closure products and sutures.
• Provensales and business development experience within the medical or healthcare sector.
• Ability to self-generate leads and build a sales pipeline.
• Confidence selling directly to doctors, surgeons and healthcare professionals.
• Strong communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
• Must be based in Johannesburg.
• Comfortable working in ahybrid and field-based environment.
