Job Overview

Under general supervision, the Business Systems Analyst supports the enhancement of business-critical systems by analyzing vendor-provided software (COTS) and translating new functionality into business value. This role focuses onunderstanding and interpreting vendor documentation, identifying changes in system functionality, and communicating business impact to internal stakeholders—enabling more effective operations and decision-making within a regulated environment.


Essential Functions

  • Analyze and interpretvendor (COTS) documentation to identify changes, new features, and potential impacts to existing systems and processes.
  • Compareexisting requirements vs. new vendor functionality, highlighting gaps, risks, and required updates.
  • Develop or modify moderately complexsystem requirements based on business needs and vendor updates.
  • Translate technical changes intoclear business insights and recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Engage directly withsoftware vendors to clarify requirements, align on solutions, and resolve issues.
  • Partner with business users (including lab teams) to understand needs and validate system changes.
  • Conductrequirements walkthroughs and workshops with business, IT, and vendor teams.
  • SupportUAT and validation activities, including risk-based testing, defect tracking, and triage.
  • Maintain and manage requirements within tools such asAzure DevOps (ADO).
  • Ensure all work aligns withregulated environment standards (e.g., FDA), with strong focus on documentation quality and compliance.

  • Proven capability toquickly understand unfamiliar systems or documentation and extract key insights.
  • ExcellentEnglish communication skills (written and verbal), with ability to translate technical concepts to business audiences.
  • Proactive, self-starter mindset with strong ownership and accountability.
  • Ability tocollaborate cross-functionally with global teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in ahighly regulated environment.
  • Comfort usingAI tools (e.g., Copilot) to enhance productivity, analysis, and documentation.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience inLife Sciences, laboratory environments, or regulated industries
  • At least2 years of experience in systems analysis or similar roles
  • Experience working withCOTS (vendor-based) applications and vendor delivery models
  • Demonstrated experience inrequirements gathering, analysis, and documentation
  • Experience working withglobal teams in an offshore/onshore model
  • Experience with tools such asAzure DevOps (ADO) or similar is a plus
