Backend Software Developer - Java/SpringBoot (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Backend Developer/Engineer to join the team behind Charisma and help build, scale, and stabilize a solution that supports complex operational and rollout processes.

You will work on backend services at the core of the solution, tackling challenges around microservices, integrations, data, performance, and system reliability. This is a hands-on engineering role where you will have the opportunity to improve both existing production services and the way new functionality is designed and delivered.

You will be part of an agile delivery environment where backend, frontend, quality, and business experts work together to turn real business requirements into reliable software.                                                                   

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Design, develop, and continuously improve backend services usingJava 17+ and Spring Boot
• Build and evolvemicroservices and REST APIs used by the Charisma solution
• Turn new business requirements into maintainable and scalable technical solutions
• Work onperformance optimization and technical stabilization of production services
• Design data models and work withPostgreSQL, SQL optimization, and database migrations
• Apply engineering approaches such asDomain-Driven Design, Event-Driven Architecture, Clean Architecture, and established design patterns
• Design and document APIs usingOpenAPI / Swagger
• Build and maintain integrations usingREST and TARDIS
• Develop automatedunit, integration, API, performance, and load tests
• Work withDocker, Kubernetes, Git, and CI/CD as part of the development and delivery lifecycle
• Improve application observability and troubleshooting usingPrometheus, Grafana, LUMINA, OpenTelemetry, and logging
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, quality engineers, and business experts to deliver end-to-end functionality
• Contribute to further rollout activities and the continuous improvement of the overall solution

YOU WILL SUCCEED IF YOU:

• Have strong hands-on experience withJava 17+, Spring Boot, and the Spring Framework.
• Are experienced in developing and maintainingmicroservices and REST APIs.
• Bring solid knowledge ofPostgreSQL, SQL, data modeling, and performance optimization.
• Have worked withSpring Data JPA, Hibernate, Spring Security, Spring Web, and Spring Validation.
• Understand modern software architecture and engineering principles, includingDomain-Driven Design (DDD), Event-Driven Architecture, Clean Architecture, and design patterns.
• Have experience usingMaven or Gradle for build and dependency management.
• Are familiar with automated testing frameworks and tools such asJUnit 5, Mockito, Testcontainers, and API testing solutions.
• Have experience withperformance and load testing of large-scale applications.
• Bring practical experience withGit, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understand the importance ofobservability, monitoring, and logging in building reliable applications.
• Have experience working withREST-based integrations and TARDIS.
• Enjoy solving technical challenges, collaborating with team members, and continuously improving the quality and performance of software solutions.
• Speak English at a minimum B2 level.

Salary

Final salary isnegotiable.

We are offering base salary depending on seniority level and previous experience of candidate. In addition to base salary we provide variable part and other financial benefits. Base salary will not be lower than 2000€ /brutto.
