AWS/CWI Inspector

📝 Job Overview:

We are currently hiring aCertified Welding Inspector (AWS-CWI) for afull-time opportunity inSan Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for shop and field inspection ofstructural steel welds and bolting, and preferably possessNDT Level II certifications inUT, MT, and PT.

This position is ideal for professionals who have hands-on inspection experience and are looking to grow within a fast-paced construction and materials testing environment.

✅ Key Responsibilities:

• Performfield and shop inspections of structural steel welds and bolted connections
• Conductnon-destructive testing (NDT) using UT, MT, and PT methods (preferred)
• Review and interpretstructural drawings, welding procedures (WPS), and current building codes
• Maintain detailed and accurateinspection records, reports, and RFIs
• Coordinate effectively withproject managers, contractors, and client representatives
• Comply with all safety standards and site protocols

🎓 Required Qualifications:

• Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) –Required
• 3+ years of experience in welding inspection or construction QA/QC
• Ability to read and understandblueprints, codes, and inspection specs
• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
• Must be able to pass abackground check anddrug screening

• NDT Level II certification in:
• • Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
  • Magnetic Particle (MT)
  • Penetrant Testing (PT)
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
