AECOM is seeking an experienced Associate – Cost Management to support the delivery of cost management services across large and complex projects spanning multiple sectors. This role is responsible for providing cost planning, estimating, cost control, procurement, and commercial management support throughout the full project lifecycle — from inception through design, procurement, construction, and close-out.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical and analytical capability across cost planning, quantity surveying, estimating, tendering, procurement, and contract administration, and is comfortable working closely with clients, project managers, consultants, and contractors to keep projects on budget and commercially sound.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide end-to-end cost management and quantity surveying services from inception through design, procurement, construction, and project closeout.
• Develop and maintain cost plans, budgets, estimates, cash-flow forecasts, and cost reports at all stages of project development.
• Prepare and review detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQs), schedules of quantities, rates, and pricing documentation.
• Undertake cost planning and benchmarking to support design development and ensure alignment with approved budgets.
• Deliver timely cost reports and dashboards highlighting financial performance, commitments, forecasts, and key commercial issues.
• Lead/support preparation of tender documentation, pricing schedules, BOQs, cost estimates, and commercial bid packages.
• Support procurement strategy, tendering, bid analysis, commercial evaluations, and tender recommendation reports.
• Monitor and manage variations, provisional sums, contingencies, and project allowances.
• Participate in client meetings, progress reviews, commercial reviews, and governance meetings.
• Provide commercial and cost management advice to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Identify cost-related risks and opportunities and develop mitigation strategies.
• Ensure all deliverables comply with quality standards and applicable industry practices.

• Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Cost Management, or a
related discipline.
• Professional certification/membership such as RICS, CIOB, AIQS, or equivalent preferred.
• Master's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, or related discipline is an advantage.
• 10–12+ years of relevant experience in Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, or Commercial Management.
• Proven experience managing cost assignments for large, complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
• Strong background in cost planning, estimating, budgeting, cost control, tendering, procurement, and contract
administration.
• Demonstrated experience managing variations, claims, payment applications, and final accounts.
• Experience with Semiconductor facilities, Data Centers, Mission-Critical facilities, or Advanced Manufacturing
projects.
• Experience managing cost/commercial aspects of projects with significant MEP and specialist systems.
• International project experience and exposure to multidisciplinary teams.
SOFT SKILLS
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients, contractors, and senior stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving ability under tight timelines.
• Strong negotiation and commercial judgment.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently as well as within cross-functional teams.
• Proactive, collaborative mindset with strong ownership and accountability.
• Effective presentation and report-writing skills for client and management audiences.
IT / SOFTWARE SKILLS
• Good working knowledge of MS Office Suite — Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency with cost management, estimating, reporting, and project management software (e.g., CostX, Primavera P6, Power BI).
