Maxwell Energy Systems is building the next generation of electronics for electric mobility, with products spanningBattery Management Systems (BMS), EV Chargers, Motor Controllers, DC-DC Converters and other automotive electronic systems.

We are looking for anAssistant Manager – End of Line Hardware Testing & Maintenance to lead our End-of-Line (EOL) and Functional Circuit Test (FCT) engineering activities at our Aurangabad manufacturing facility.

This role is ideal for an experienced test engineer who enjoys working at the intersection ofelectronics, automation, manufacturing and production engineering, and can take ownership of test systems from concept through commissioning and mass production.

What You'll Do

  • Lead theEOL/FCT Test Engineering and Maintenance team and own the availability, performance and continuous improvement of production test systems.
  • Understand, maintain and continuously improve existingFCT, EOL and ICT test systems, fixtures, test masters and software.
  • Developtest strategies, test cases and test sequences for new electronic products in collaboration with Hardware, Firmware, Systems and Manufacturing teams.
  • Design test-system architecture, includingtest fixtures, electrical interfaces, instrumentation, switching, communication and safety mechanisms.
  • Design and develop automated test fixtures and jigs forEOL and functional testing of automotive electronic products.
  • Define test protocols, hardware connections, measurement methods and acceptance criteria based on product requirements and specifications.
  • Automate test processes usingPython, LabVIEW or equivalent programming environments.
  • Work with external test-fixture and equipment suppliers to develop, commission and qualify production test systems.
  • Take ownership of test engineering activities across the product lifecycle, fromDesign Verification Planning through Start of Production (SOP) and mass production.
  • Ensure timelycommissioning, validation and release of test equipment, fixtures and software for production.
  • Provide hands-on technical support to Production fortest failures, intermittent issues, equipment downtime and product-related problems.
  • Perform structuredtest failure analysis and root-cause investigation, working with Hardware, Firmware, Quality and Manufacturing teams.
  • Develop and maintainCAN-based test and diagnostic tools/software, including CANView and related production utilities.
  • Maintain and improvetest masters, test specifications, calibration requirements, software and documentation for FCT/EOL systems.
  • Identify opportunities fortest automation, cycle-time reduction, cost reduction, yield improvement and increased test coverage.
  • Participate in component and product design reviews to ensuretestability and manufacturability are considered from the beginning of the design.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers onFCT/EOL development, debugging, automation and maintenance.

Must-Have Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in hardware test engineering, EOL/FCT development and maintenance, preferably in a production environment.
  • Strong understanding ofelectronic circuits and the ability to read and troubleshoot complex schematics.
  • Hands-on experience developing and maintainingautomated test systems, fixtures and production test equipment.
  • Strong experience withLabVIEW and/or Python for test automation.
  • Experience definingtest sequences, test cases, measurement methods, limits and pass/fail criteria.
  • Experience withEOL/FCT test systems, test fixtures, instrumentation and production debugging.
  • Strong understanding of interfaces such asCAN, UART, SPI, I²C and other commonly used electronic communication interfaces.
  • Experience working directly withProduction, Quality, Hardware and Firmware teams to resolve manufacturing and product issues.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis skills.
  • Bachelor's degree inElectronics/Electrical Engineering (ECE/EEE) or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience withautomotive electronics, BMS, EV chargers, motor controllers or other EV products.
  • Experience developing test systems forhigh-volume manufacturing.
  • Experience withNI hardware, DAQ systems, PXI/PXIe, switching matrices, electronic loads, power supplies and other automated test instrumentation.
  • Experience withICT, FCT, EOL and production validation methodologies.
  • Familiarity withCAN tools and automotive diagnostic/testing protocols.
  • Experience working with external test-fixture and automation vendors.
  • Understanding ofDFT (Design for Testability) and manufacturing test optimization.
  • Experience in reducingtest cycle time, improving first-pass yield and increasing test coverage.
