Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain Android applications for automotive infotainment systems using Kotlin and Java.

  • Develop ICL functionality using the Qt framework, in line with project scope and requirements.

  • Implement client-specific features using scripting languages.

  • Analyze, clarify, and implement customer requirements according to project scope and development plans.

  • Implement new features and adapt existing applications on AAOS/AOSP-based platforms.

  • Collaborate with system engineers, product owners, UX/UI designers, QA, and integration teams to deliver end-to-end functionality.

  • Work with the Android framework and platform components to implement customer requirements at the application level.

  • Analyze, debug, and resolve software defects, performance issues, and integration problems.

  • Participate in code reviews and design discussions.

  • Develop and maintain unit tests to ensure software quality and reliability.nt, and documentation preparation activities based on the project specific processes.

  • Support software integration, verification, and validation activities in CI environments and vehicle setups.

Qualifications
  • Experience with Qt / C++ development.

  • Scripting experience with Python, Bash, and Lua.

  • Experience with Flutter and Dart.

  • 5+ years of experience in the Automotive industry.

  • Deep knowledge of Android Automotive OS (AAOS) architecture, including Car Service, VHAL, and system applications.

  • Expert-level knowledge of Android, including Android framework and system internals.

  • Strong expertise in performance tuning, concurrency, and software optimization.

  • Experience with the AOSP build system, including Soong and Bazel.

  • Proficiency with Git, Jenkins, and modern code review practices.

  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills using logcat, ADB, dumpsys, profilers, and related Android development tools.

  • Experience working in Linux-based development environments.

  • Good understanding of software quality practices, including unit testing, integration testing, static analysis, and CI/CD workflows.

  • Good English communication skills and the ability to work effectively in distributed, cross-functional teams.

  • Based in Bucharest, with availability to work from the office, including hands-on work with project-specific hardware.
