AO/AVP/Fixed-Income Trader

Job Title: AO or AVP/Fixed-Income Trader      

Reports to: Head of Trading - Fixed Income

Location:  Shanghai

Who You’ll Work With: Tradingteam

What You’ll Do:

• Source liquidity to support fund operations, especially in challenging markets. Manage interbank/exchange funding, conduct repo/reverse repo, and optimize cost/efficiency. Strong funding capability and good bank relationships are highly preferred.
• Execute onshore fixed income trades for domestic portfolios in compliance with AB trading rules and local regulations. Proactively source and execute cash bond trades, participate in primary bidding and distribution.
• Develop and maintain relationships with counterparties, including liquidity providers, market makers and others.
• Contribute to investment meetings where applicable and provide relevant feedback to analysts and portfolio managers.
• Any other tasks assigned by managers

What We’re Looking For:

• Thorough understanding of onshore fixed income trading and ecosystems with at least 2 years’ experience
• Proven track record and experience in fixed income trading, and proven established relationships with key onshore counter parties
• Market structure expert within the China region that possesses a solid understanding of structural, fundamental, and technical factors in the Fixed Income Landscape
• Bachelor’s Degree or above preferably in Finance, Economics, or Computer Science, with excellence in academics
• Excel skills, programming skills preferred
• AMAC practitioner’s license, onshore CNY trader license
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Self-driven, ability to prioritize, attention to details, problem-solving skills and a willingness to tackle challenges
