Neonatology TIPQCJob Summary:
The Tennessee Initiative for Perinatal Quality Care (TIPQC) is the state’s perinatal quality improvement collaborative, founded in 2008 through a grant from the Governor’s Office to engage hospitals, practitioners, payers, families, and communities in order to promote meaningful change, improve health outcomes, and improve the quality of care through pregnancy, delivery and beyond for all Tennessee families.In your pivotal role as Research Data Analyst, you will be responsible for providing support for complex qualitative and quantitative research projects in health policy, public health, or related disciplines under occasional guidance. You also will utilize intermediate level research skills to perform a variety of quantitative research activities including data management, analysis of quantitative data, report preparation, and management of project budgets and schedules for proposals and projects. Your duties will be:
o Collaborate with faculty and the data team to support the creation, implementation, testing, and revision of initiative data forms and reports across the project lifecycle.
o Manage data systems and datasets, including data cleaning, monitoring data entry status across participating teams, preparing analysis-ready datasets, and coordinating with TIPQC staff and faculty.
o Gather, organize, manage, and statistically analyze data to support implementation of perinatal QI projects and monitor progress toward maternal and infant health outcome goals.
o Conduct quality improvement data analysis using statistical analysis software and spreadsheet/database tools; produce routine and ad hoc reports for multiple QI projects.
o Design data collection tools, survey instruments, and related protocols (including data dictionaries/definitions and validation procedures) to support reliable and standardized data capture.
o Perform day-to-day management of databases and datasets, including data cleaning, monitoring data entry completeness/timeliness, preparing analysis-ready datasets, and coordinating with other analysts as needed.
o Monitor and respond to stakeholder and participating hospital feedback in a timely, efficient, and service-oriented manner.
o Provide training and support to participating hospitals on data systems, data entry expectations, and interpretation of reports and findings.
o Consult with TIPQC staff, faculty, and other subject matter experts on data results; provide interpretation support to QI project participants to inform improvement actions.
o Assist with analysis of collected data and support dissemination efforts, including abstracts, posters, and manuscripts.
o Prepare quarterly and annual reports to funders summarizing progress toward defined process and outcome measures.
o Support rural hospitals with their QI Scholar projects, as assigned.
o Design and administer surveys; analyze responses to identify barriers, successes, and opportunities for collaborative learning and improvement.
o Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED:
o Master’s Degree, preferably MPH (or equivalent experience)
o 2 years of relevant experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
o Prior experience working with large datasets
o Extensive knowledge of Excel and REDCap
o Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
o Experience with IBM SPSS, REDCap, and QI Macros
o Comfort working with design and BI/visualization tools, including Canva, Tableau, and Power BI
You will work Monday-Friday, traditional daytime business hours and this position will work remotely from your home office.

The Mildred Stahlman Division of Neonatology at Monroe Carell is ranked one of the top programs in the nation for the care of critically ill newborns and premature babies. We admit more than 1,400 babies to our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) each year.  But our support extends beyond your baby to your family. We encourage you to ask questions and take an active part in caring for your baby in our NICU.  Our neonatologists provide services at Monroe Carell, Maury Regional Medical Center, Vanderbilt Clarksville Hospital and Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Project Coordination
o Coordinate communications with new and existing stakeholders, including scheduling meetings and sharing timely updates across multiple groups.
o Develop and maintain presentation materials (including data-driven slides) for monthly hospital huddles, individualized coaching calls, and meetings with current and prospective stakeholders.
o Monitor and respond to stakeholder and hospital team feedback in a timely, efficient, and service-oriented manner.
o Conduct background research in collaboration with faculty to support proposed QI projects and toolkit development.
o Support content creation and organization of materials for distribution to participating hospital teams.
o Support preparation of dissemination materials, including abstracts, posters, and manuscripts.
o Assist with branding, logistics, and planning for annual conferences and in-person meetings.
o Provide first-line technical and QI process support to participating hospitals; escalate issues to the Data Manager and/or Executive Director as appropriate.
o Develop surveys and analyze responses to identify barriers, successes, and opportunities for collaborative learning.
o Monitor monthly hospital data to identify emerging topics, potential QI champions for topic calls, and sites needing additional support to meet initiative goals.
o Plan dates, coordinate speakers, and assist with facilitation of QI topic calls and other collaborative learning sessions.
o Assist with planning agendas, speakers, panels, and breakout sessions for in-person collaborative learning opportunities.
Data Management, Analysis & Reporting

Collaborative Communications & Coordination
o Support effective communication with participating hospital teams, TIPQC Advisory Board and staff, leadership, stakeholders, and other parties engaged with TIPQC initiatives.
o Maintain and manage hospital team contact lists and distribution lists to support reliable communications.
o Assist with planning and coordination for in-person meetings and the annual TIPQC conference.
o Support preparation of content for TIPQC presentations and learning activities, including monthly huddles/learning sessions, individualized hospital coaching calls, stakeholder updates, and national presentations.
o Travel, as needed, to assist teams with implementation support (including potential IT/EMR-related screening workflow support, as appropriate to role scope).
o Serve as a technical liaison between TIPQC and participating hospitals’ clinical, QI, informatics, and IT teams. Support mapping hospital EHR data to TIPQC’s standardized submission requirements, testing data submissions, and resolving data-quality issues.
o Coordinate technical support for hospital-led implementation and testing of project screening and documentation workflows. (Hospital IT/informatics teams and EHR vendors retain responsibility for configuring and modifying their systems, with clinical content approved by the appropriate clinical leaders.)
