MRI Technologist I - Outpatient

PositionObjective:

Performs routine and complexMRIprocedures in accordancewith established safetyand qualitystandards and the specialneeds of patients.

EssentialJobDuties:

1.  ProcessesMRIscansequences;verifiesdemographicsand technicalinformation;checks technicalqualityofimages.

2. ParticipatesasamemberofaspecializedmedicalteaminperformingspecializedMRIscansofvariousorgansandinpreparing patients for specific procedures. Reviews pathology,surgical,and other reports to monitor patient progressandprovideameansforevaluatingtheaccuracyofMRIexaminations.

3. Constantlyassesses patient’s condition and administers first aid as required;assists physicians in cases of adversereactions or emergencies.

4.  Conferswith the Supervisor to recommend changes,report problems and provide feedbackon improving patient care,technicalqualityand clericalfunctions.

5. Monitors equipmentperformanceand reportsproblems to theManager;recordsmalfunctionsas required.

Educational/ExperienceRequirements:

•   Successfulcompletion of aone-yearaccreditedprograminMRI TechnologyorARRTMRIcertification

•   Currentwith Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements

RequiredLicense/Certifications:

•   CurrentStateofMarylandLicensure (preferred)

•   ARRT (MRI) or ARMIRT (required)

•   AmericanHeartAssociationHealthcareProviderBLS (required)
