We are seeking a high-caliberNetwork Engineer with a specialized Cyber Security focus to join our technical operations team. This role sits at the intersection of robust infrastructure management and aggressive security posture hardening.

The ideal candidate is a technical diplomat capable of translating complex vulnerabilities into actionable remediation plans and presenting those solutions to high-level stakeholders.

Core Responsibilities

1. Network Infrastructure & Operations

  • ProvideTier 3/Ops-level troubleshooting for complex LAN/WAN environments.
  • Manage, configure, and maintain multi-vendor environments with a primary focus onCisco andAruba architectures.
  • Ensure high availability and optimal performance of critical network pathways.

2. Cyber Security Hardening & Compliance

  • STIG Management: Lead the interpretation and implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to harden network assets.
  • Vulnerability Management: UtilizeNessus/Tenable to identify risks; performPatch Vulnerability Adjudication (PVG) to determine the validity and impact of identified threats.
  • Government Frameworks: ManagePlan of Action and Milestones (PO&AM) documentation and supportSecurity Control Assessor (SCA) requirements within a government-standard framework.

3. Network Automation & Cloud

  • Modernize workflows by leveraging automation tools includingAnsible andSolarWinds.
  • Support cloud-integrated networking (AWS) usingTerraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments.

Required:

  • Networking: Deep expertise in Cisco & Aruba; LAN/WAN troubleshooting in high-stakes environments.
  • Cyber Tools: Mastery of Nessus, Tenable, and the STIG hardening process
  • Compliance: Experience with Gov-sector workflows: PO&AM, SCA audits, and PVG.
  • Automation: Proficiency in Ansible, Terraform (AWS), and SolarWinds for monitoring/orchestration.

The "Cross-Discipline" Edge (Soft Skills)

This role requires more than technical prowess; it requiresinfluence. We are looking for aCross-Team SME who excels in:

  • Dynamic Presentation: You must be comfortable withPublic Board Presentations (Med/High frequency), possessing the "adapt and overcome" mindset to handle live, high-pressure inquiries.
  • Technical Translation: The ability to take a granular technical query and translate it into a strategic business or security solution for non-technical leadership.
  • Low-Conflict Navigation: High ability to "politick" across teams with a low-friction, results-oriented approach.
  • Research & Solutioning: A self-starter attitude toward researching emerging threats and proposing architectural pivots on the fly.

Desired:

  • Active security clearance (or eligibility to obtain public trust).
  • Relevant certifications: CCNP/CCIE, Aruba Certified Design Professional (ACDP), CISSP, or CEH.
  • Proven history of briefing senior government or corporate leadership on security posture.
