About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the company's accounting records, supporting financial planning activities, managing tax compliance and providing timely financial reporting to management.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys owning the accounting cycle while supporting the wider finance function.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting
Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate accounting records.
Prepare journal entries, reconciliations and month-end accounting adjustments.
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
Tax & Compliance
Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory tax filings.
Support annual audits and liaise with external auditors and advisors.
Ensure compliance with local accounting and tax regulations.
Financial Reporting
Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
Support the month-end and year-end close process.
Analyse financial performance and explain key variances.
Produce regular reports for management.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Assist in preparing the annual budget.
Support periodic forecasting exercises.
Monitor budget performance and identify deviations.
Treasury
Monitor daily cash position and liquidity.
Prepare short- and medium-term cash flow forecasts.
Coordinate payments and banking activities.
Other Duties
Provide broader finance support and contribute to ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.
Requirements
Education
Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
Experience
3–6 years of relevant accounting experience.
Experience managing the full accounting cycle.
Solid knowledge of tax compliance and month-end close activities.
Experience supporting budgeting and cash flow management is highly desirable.
Skills
Strong accounting knowledge.
Good understanding of Spanish tax regulations.
Advanced Excel skills.
Experience using ERP/accounting software.
Good analytical and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Professional level of English (written and spoken) is required.
