What you will do
In this role, you will serve as a front line representative for our Linton clinic supporting reception and administrative job duties and serve as a backup for Linton team members.
Reception – Primary Role
Scheduling, Insurance, and Data Entry
Schedules, reschedules, and cancels appointments as necessary following current scheduling protocols
Updates patient recalls as necessary
Places telephone calls to no-show appointments; reschedules as needed
Inputs & updates patient demographic information
Inputs insurance information
Verifies patient’s insurance eligibility
Patient Check-In/Check-out
Checks patients in, greeting everyone in a pleasant and professional manner
Tracks patients in the reception area and communicate with them, as needed
Evaluates chart data to verify all information has been received, completed, and signatures obtained
Scans patient’s insurance card into the system and ensures insurance information is accurate
Ensures that proper authorization or referral is collected from the patient
Assists patients in obtaining authorization or referrals that have not been received by the practice
Enters all new patient demographic information into the computer
Marks arrival time of patient in office and makes sure the patient is seen on time.
Collects and inputs co-pays, refraction fees and any other known, non-covered or outstanding charges.
Maintains the cash drawer; responsible for payments received at the front desk.
Completes opening and closing procedures as scheduled
Administrative
Answers telephone calls in order to address patient questions, schedule appointments, or directs calls to appropriate personnel
Assists with incoming and outgoing mail
Ensures reception waiting areas are kept tidy and clean at all times.
Assists with cleaning of the Linton Clinic
Performs other duties as required
Additional Opportunity to Support Optical & Contact Lens Services
This role offers the opportunity to also assist with optical and contact lens patient care as needed. Responsibilities may include educating patients on eyewear and contact lens options, assisting with frame selection and eyewear dispensing, processing orders, communicating with patients regarding order status, supporting contact lens fittings and follow-up care, troubleshooting patient concerns, managing inventory and supplies, and providing exceptional customer service throughout the patient experience.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous medical office experience preferred
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus

Schedule
This is a part-time position working30 to 32 hours per week, with a consistent schedule ofMonday through Thursday, approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Enjoy a predictable workweek with Fridays off, allowing for a healthy work-life balance while supporting patients in a rewarding healthcare environment.
