A lot of designers can draw a beautiful dense interface. Very few can stand in a room with a trader who has done the job for twenty years, an executive sponsor with strong aesthetic opinions and no daily use of the product, and a delivery date — and come out with a decision that holds.

The second thing is the job. You own the design system for this platform: you build it, you decide its rules, and you defend it to business people who will regularly tell you they wanted something else. Sometimes you will hold the line. Sometimes they will be right and you will change it in the room. Knowing which is which is the skill we are hiring for.

If you are looking for a seat where the system is handed to you and you produce screens inside it, this is the wrong posting.

The product

We're building an operating system for international oil trading — an event-driven platform replacing the fragmented tools traders, operators, and finance teams live in today. The product is coded by AI agents inside a structured harness; design works the same way — an AI design pipeline that keeps context, consistency, and quality across dozens of screens. There is no toolkit yet: you define it. You'll be the designer who owns the interfaces themselves: dense tables, live deal states, event feeds — the working environment of people moving cargoes and money.

A word of honesty: this is not a comfortable ride. We move fast toward a hard release deadline, and the product evolves as we learn the domain — expect frequent paradigm shifts, redone work, and decisions overturned by new insight. If you need a stable spec and a mature design system to lean on, this isn't the place. What you will do

• Design role workbenches: from text descriptions to screens — dashboards, tables, forms, event feeds
• Define and build the design toolkit from scratch: establish base components and patterns before the design system stage
• Work inside the AI design harness: prompt, review, and correct agent-generated UI so output stays consistent and nothing gets invented or lost
• Validate screens with real users alongside the PM, iterate fast
• Hand off to development: states, edge cases, behavior — so nothing is left to guesswork

What we expect

• 5+ years in product design withcomplex interfaces in your portfolio: dashboards, data tables, multi-state forms — fintech, trading, logistics, analytics
• Ability to read a business process conceptually — not just push pixels on screens
• Design with AI beyond the basics: in your application, describe one project where you worked with AI-generated UI or built a design workflow with AI tools — what you set up, what broke, what you learned
• Figma, component logic, systematic thinking
• Working Russian; English for documentation

Strongly preferred

• B2B, fintech, logistics or trading interfaces
• Maps, timelines, layered or time-versioned data, serious data visualisation
• Experience where the project's sponsor was not one of its users
• Working directly with developers on implementation fidelity

A plus:CTRM/ETRM, trading terminals, marine/commodity domain, experience setting up design context for coding agents, motion.

This role is not for you if

• Your portfolio is beautiful and you cannot say what constraint produced each decision
• You need the research finished and the flows settled before you can start
• You want to inherit a design system rather than build one
• You go quiet when a senior business user says "I don't like it"
• Density frightens you, or your instinct on a hard screen is to remove information rather than organise it
