Job Summary:Â Â
The Export Compliance Specialist will support our export compliance program by conducting detailed analysis of export transactions, performing regulatory research, and assisting with compliance assessments. This role focuses on the analytical aspects of export control compliance, including data analysis, regulatory interpretation, and supporting documentation review under the guidance of senior export control professionals.Â
Core Responsibilities:Â
- Analyze export transactions for compliance with EAR, ITAR, OFACÂ and FTRÂ regulationsÂ
- Perform advanced export classifications analysis of hardware, software and technology (ECCN and Schedule B) Â
- Evaluate and approve export transactions and compliance determinationsÂ
- Perform third-party due diligence assessments and determine escalation or mitigation actionsÂ
- Review export documentation for accuracy and completenessÂ
- Prepare, submit, and manage export license applications including regulatory rationaleÂ
- Serve as an advisor to internal stakeholders Â
- Monitor Federal Register notices and agency guidance for compliance updates Â
- Maintain current knowledge of export control lists, country groups, and licensing policiesÂ
- Maintain and update export control databases and tracking systemsÂ
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends and potential compliance issuesÂ
- Support audit activities by preparing documentation and analysis reportsÂ
- Prepare regulatory reports for BIS filings Â
- Perform restricted party screening using screening tools (Visual Compliance or OCR EASE) and government databasesÂ
- Analyze shipping routes and intermediary parties for compliance concernsÂ
- Support investigations and resolution of potential compliance issuesÂ
- Maintain export control records and documentationÂ
- Support in the development, implementation, dissemination, and maintenance of internal compliance proceduresÂ
- Support the preparation and delivery of compliance training on export control topics.Â
- Support key trade compliance initiatives and projects as required.Â
- Maintain expertise in international trade regulatory areas i.e. EAR, ITAR, CBP, FTR, OFAC, FTA, and global trade regulations. Â

- 6+ years of work experience of export control regulations EAR, OFAC, ITAR) and operationsÂ
- Bachelor’s Degree in International Business or related field or equivalent experienceÂ
- Knowledge of international trade documentation, shipping processes, and IncotermsÂ
- Strong analytical and research skillsÂ
- Demonstrated ability to independently interpret and apply export control regulationsÂ
- Strong expertise in export classification, licensing, and regulatory risk assessmentÂ
- Demonstrates strong personal integrity and manages confidential matters with professionalism, exercising sound judgment and maturity at all times.Â
- Proficiency with SNAP-R, ACE and enterprise screening toolsÂ
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, VisioÂ
- Knowledge of encryption controlsÂ
- Knowledge of EU dual-use export control regulation Â
- Previous experience in manufacturing environment Â
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsÂ
- Ability to exercise discretion and judgment on matters of regulatory significanceÂ
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to advise and influence stakeholdersÂ
The starting pay range for this position is $84,800 - $101,700 per year however, the base pay offered may vary depending on the level of the position, skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.
