Job Summary:

TheRailroad Track Specialist willinspect railroad tracks to ensurecompliance with applicable railroad standards, state regulations, and the FRA Track Safety Standards Part 213 Subpart A-F. They will produce reports for all tracks inspected, noting allnon-compliant conditions found and providingsuggested corrective/remedial actions. This position communicates regularly with theirdirect supervisor and completesweekly/daily reports as required. The Railroad Track Specialist plays an integral role indeveloping and maintaining the RailPros client relationship.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Inspect railroad track structure (primarily on foot) forcompliance with railroad standards, state regulations, &FRA Track Safety Standards Part 213 Subpart A-F
  • Detect deviations fromfederal (FRA Track Safety Standards Part 213 Subpart A-F)/state regulations and identify areas requiringrepair or maintenance
  • Implementremedial action on defects, pending repair
  • Comply with allrailroad/client safety rules,FRA guidelines, andRailPros' policies and procedures
  • Provideclear written and verbal communication of track conditions
  • Produceaccurate and detailed reports for all tracks inspected
  • Participate inderailment investigations if required
  • Build and maintaineffective customer relationships
  • Other duties as assigned or required to meet the needs of the business

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proven ability to work withminimal supervision
  • Ability totravel to various locations in the region forextensive periods of time
  • Proficient inMicrosoft Programs (Outlook, Excel, Word), Adobe PDF Suite
  • Exemplaryverbal and written communication skills
  • Excellentproblem-solving skills
  • Ability to workindependently and as part of ateam
  • Comfort withsharing knowledge of track standards withclients, FRA, railroad employees, and other RailPros employees

Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum5 years' experience as a railroad track inspector,MOW Foreman, orMOW Supervisor
  • Proficiency indigital technology with the ability to use atablet and/or laptop computer
  • Competent in using atape measure, level board, stringline, taper/step gauge, andstraightedge
  • High School Diplomarequired

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience inmonitoring multiple work sites andallocating time efficiently
  • Ability tolead safety meetings and job sitesafety briefings
  • Ability tointerpret construction plans and specifications
  • Experience incoordinating project tasks with parties ofconflicting interests

Additional Qualifications, Certifications, etc.:

  • Ability to passā€œeRailSafeā€ background check and railroadsafety and security training
  • Validdriver’s license required
  • Ability to demonstrateknowledge of FRA Track Safety Standards Part 213 Subpart A-FĀ and bequalified by RailPros manager
