
Special Assistant - Executive Director of Procurement

Job Summary:
Lead the procurement and coordination of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), relocation, installation, and architectural and engineering services for District capital construction and renovation projects. Serves as a key member of project teams, managing FF&E budgets and supporting project planning, execution, and facility readiness.Required Qualifications:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for procurement and coordination of relocation services, furniture, and equipment, including installation functions, related to Capital Improvement Programs.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including district leadership, staff, and external partners.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
- Prepare and present reports on construction procurement activities and contract performance.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all construction-related procurement.
- Develop and manage the construction FF&E budget, ensuring cost effective purchasing practices. Monitor expenditures and ensure financial accountability.
- Collaborate with district departments on product specifications and coordination with the facilities and construction staff to ensure adherence to established budgets for construction-related projects.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions
Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions. Little physical effort required.
Required
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution and five (5) years of directly related professional-level experience.
Five (5) years of supervisory experience.
Preferred
Master's degree from an accredited institution.
Experience with public purchasing environments is desired.
