Are you an organized, detail-oriented professional who enjoys keeping a busy team on track and ensuring things run smoothly behind the scenes? Join Oakland County’s Human Resources team and provide essential administrative support to our Employee & Labor Relations and Human Resources Business Partners. In this role, you’ll coordinate schedules, manage important records and case information, support meetings and projects, and serve as a key point of contact for the team.
What You’ll Do:
• Coordinate calendars, meetings, hearing dates, deadlines, travel, expenses, and special projects.
• Prepare and organize background materials and documentation for upcoming meetings.
• Review meeting minutes and help coordinate necessary follow-up activities.
• Serve as an initial point of contact and monitor departmental email inboxes.
• Open case files, complete initial intake activities, and route information to the appropriate team member.
• Maintain confidential employee, labor relations, and departmental records and files.
• Support data management, financial processes, and other administrative functions.
• Help facilitate effective communication and information sharing across the HR team.

Minimum Qualifications
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, Legal Administration, or a closely related field of study.
- Have two (2) years of full-time experience in an office setting preferably in a Human Resources environment.
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Considerable understanding of office management practices including knowledge of information systems.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Considerable ability to plan and organize multiple projects simultaneously.
Considerable ability to follow complex oral and written instructions.
Considerable ability to make routine decisions in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Considerable ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with employees of the assigned division, section or unit, and other divisions and departments.
Considerable ability to exercise good judgment and initiative in analyzing problems and recommending solutions.
Considerable ability to utilize current word processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail, and Internet software.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Coordinates administrative and clerical functions of the Employee & Labor Relations and Human Resources Business Partner Unit, including scheduling meetings, routing assignments as directed, submitting support requests to other departments, and other tasks as assigned.
Maintains official files and documents including electronic records and data. Responds to requests for information and submits documents for posting to website or other communications. Ensures ELR/HRBP documents are updated on internal and external sites.
Proofreads, formats and edits documents, prepares tables of contents and final layouts. Produces and distributes materials as needed.
Monitors the office meeting schedule and minutes to determine and initiate necessary follow-up, such as compiling necessary documents ahead of meetings, and disseminating information.
Tracks due dates and deadlines in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and sends reminders to assigned staff to ensure efficient and timely operations.
Assists the Human Resources Business Partner’s with running reports, gathering data, and generating department workplans.
Assists the Employee & Labor Relations Office with data entry, running reports, and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tracking. This may include but is not limited to seniority reports and entering discipline data.
Drafts monthly summaries and reports and other documents as assigned.
Receives and responds to Employee & Labor Relations and Human Resources Business Partner questions and requests.
Assists with researching costing and related information for budget requests and supports financial processes as assigned. Coordinates purchasing and RFP processes, monitors contract expirations and professional services utilized within ELR/HRBP operations.
Assists with processing expense reports and accounts payable, ordering supplies, submitting work orders, and coordinating acquisition and set-up of equipment.
Formulates, recommends, and implements procedural changes in office workflow operations.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists with planning, coordinating, and monitoring special divisional programs/projects.
Assists in developing long range goals and objectives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
Utilizes current countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.

Ability to communicate to accurately convey information using tact and diplomacy.
Ability to understand and maintain discretion and confidentiality.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a typical office environment.
