Location:Hybrid – Typical working pattern: 2–3 days/week at MOD Abbey Wood.

Rate:Up to ÂŁ550/day (Inside IR35)

Overview

Reporting to the OBI Lead & Ch Eng, responsible for the generation and execution of the engineering management plan (OME aspects) for the delivery of Urgent One Way Effector capability requirements.

Key Tasks and Deliverables

  • Form Technical Requirements and manage the Test, V&V and evaluation process – SRD / ITEAP (proportionate to scale of project)
  • Establish engineering roadmap for future phases and Engineering Management Plans
  • Assure technical data as provided by Supplier(s), provide advice to Ch Eng/Chief Technical Officer/Senior Safety Responsible on matters they are accountable
  • Integrate and manage project interests with a wide range of stakeholders, such as Airworthiness authorities & Heads of Establishments
  • Provide assurance that Supplier tests are safe and IAW with local process, and aviation regulations
  • Identify and analyse technical hazards, contribute to the development of safety artefacts as required to enable testing

Essential Experience / Skills

  • Engineering manager with experience managing development and integration of novel systems
  • Experience of complex weapons development and testing programmes
  • Familiarity with DOSR and/or MAA regulations and experience working with regulators.
  • Management of development and integration of novel systems

Desirable Experience / Skills

  • Qualifications and/or experience in OME assurance
  • Uncrewed Air Systems Development and Testing

Other Information

  • Ability to attend a duty station 2 days per week (ABW mostly but travel to London, Supplier premises, UK Ranges at times throughout). Overseas travel potential depending on the identification of suitable ranges to test.
