🩺 Non-VR General Practitioner | $150/hr | QLD, NSW, VIC, SA, WA

If you're non-VR, where you work and which program you're on decide whether you can bill Medicare at all. These clinics are in Distribution Priority Areas, and we'll confirm the DPA status of your exact site before any offer is made.

The work is chronic and complex care across Medicare and DVA billing streams, with a Chronic Care Team behind every patient: physio, exercise physiology, dietetics, podiatry, OT and care coordination. Admin and care coordinators carry the paperwork, so your time goes on patients.

• $150/hr, at the upper end of the non-VR market

Your Medicare pathway

• 19AB, if you trained overseas or studied here as a temporary resident: you'll need a DPA exemption. You apply for it with your Medicare provider number, and it's tied to the practice location. Services Australia assesses it within 28 working days, and you bill Medicare when both are in place.
• 19AA, if you're an Australian citizen or permanent resident: you must be enrolled in an approved 3GA program before you start. At our sites that's usually the Pre-Fellowship Program. It costs nothing and is open year round, and every states Rural Workforce Agency processes it in around 28 business days.
• Trained overseas and now a PR or citizen? Both 19AA and 19AB apply to you.
• DVA billing opens once your provider number is active.

On Fellowship. PFP gets you billing Medicare and building general practice experience. It isn't a Fellowship pathway on its own, so you'll join a college-led program such as AGPT when you're ready to sit your exams.

• PGY3 or above
• Right to work in Australia
• For PFP: no previous enrolment in a 3GA program

• DVA and Coordinated Veterans' Care experience is not essentialas onboarding is provided

• Independent contractor, rates exclusive of GST.
