This is a growth moment for the company—and we are looking for a BD leader who wants to help shape what comes next.
Position OverviewÂ
Q2IMPACT is seeking a Senior Business Development Director who is a true growth driver: strategic, organized, connected, persuasive, and hands-on. This person will help lead expansion across the DoW, national security, security cooperation, and adjacent mission markets while bringing energy and discipline to the full business development lifecycle.Â
This role is ideal for a go-getter who knows how to open doors, build trust, read the market, shape opportunities early, and then roll up their sleeves to drive capture and proposal execution. You should be equally comfortable talking strategy with senior leaders, building relationships with clients and partners, leading a proposal process, and making sure the details do not fall through the cracks.Â
Success in this role requires the rare combination of hustle and structure: someone who can schmooze with purpose, turn relationships into actionable opportunities, manage a disciplined pipeline, lead capture strategy, and help produce winning proposals in a fast-moving small business environment.Â
Who You AreÂ
- A go-getter who creates momentum instead of waiting for directionÂ
- Highly organized, disciplined, and able to manage multiple pursuits without losing the threadÂ
- Relationship-driven, credible, and comfortable engaging clients, partners, and senior stakeholdersÂ
- Strategic enough to see the market and practical enough to build the next-step planÂ
- Hands-on in capture and proposal work, not just a networker or strategistÂ
- Energized by working in a small, ambitious company where initiative mattersÂ
What You’ll OwnÂ
Growth Strategy & Market ExpansionÂ
- Drive growth across security cooperation and adjacent DoW mission areas, including COCOMs, DSCA, and related stakeholdersÂ
- Identify, qualify, and shape opportunities across advisory, analytics, program support, and digital solutionsÂ
- Build and expand relationships with key mission buyers, partners, and stakeholdersÂ
- Translate market insight into clear, actionable growth strategies tied to revenue goalsÂ
- Serve as a thought partner to leadership in exploring and developing strategies to pursue non-government and alternative funding opportunitiesÂ
Pipeline OwnershipÂ
- Own and actively manage a high-quality, actionable pipeline from early identification through awardÂ
- Maintain disciplined CRM tracking with clear next steps, risks, and win strategiesÂ
- Lead pipeline reviews and prioritization discussions in coordination with leadership and delivery teamsÂ
Capture Leadership (Winning Work)Â
- Lead capture efforts end-to-end, with emphasis on early positioning and pre-RFP engagementÂ
- Leverage existing and developing relationships with government counterparts to generate and shape new business leadsÂ
- Convert early-stage leads into structured pursuit strategies with clear next steps, timelines, and ownershipÂ
- Develop win themes grounded in client needs, competitive positioning, and differentiated offeringsÂ
- Support bid/no-bid decisions and ensure focus on high-probability, strategically aligned opportunitiesÂ
Proposal & Deal ExecutionÂ
- Lead and/or closely manage proposal processes from kickoff through submission, ensuring clear roles, deadlines, compliance, and quality controlÂ
- Translate capture strategy into compelling proposal content, solutioning, management approaches, staffing concepts, and win themesÂ
- Coordinate contributors, reviewers, pricing inputs, past performance, resumes, and partner materials so proposals move efficiently and professionallyÂ
- Keep the team focused on producing submissions that are compliant, competitive, persuasive, and grounded in Q2IMPACT’s differentiatorsÂ
Strategic PartneringÂ
- Build and maintain relationships with primes, subcontractors, and vehicle holdersÂ
- Help identify and secure strong teaming positions early in the pursuit lifecycleÂ
- Collaborate with leadership to determine when to pursue opportunities as a prime or through partnershipsÂ
- What Sets You Apart (Required)Â
- 10+ years of experience in federal business development, capture, or growth leadership within DoW or national security marketsÂ
- Proven track record of winning federal work and growing portfoliosÂ
- Direct experience in security cooperation environments (DSCA, COCOMs, FMS, or related)Â
- Demonstrated experience across pre-RFP shaping, capture execution, and proposal supportÂ
- Strong understanding of federal acquisition and contract vehicles (IDIQs, GWACs, etc.)Â
- Established relationships across government stakeholders and industry partnersÂ
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent pursuits independently while collaborating across teamsÂ
- Experience working within small to mid-sized federal contracting environmentsÂ
- Highly DesiredÂ
- Experience supporting or winning work with DSCA and/or COCOMsÂ
- Background in security cooperation, AM&E, knowledge management, staffing support, or institutional supportÂ
- Familiarity with OTAs and alternative acquisition pathwaysÂ
- Active Secret clearance
