Job SummaryÂ
The Psychiatrist will be an integral member of DAP Health's integrative care team, responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments and providing psychiatric services to patients in need of behavioral health care. This position operates within an outpatient Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting, where the psychiatrist will collaborate closely with providers and care teams, working with patients from diverse backgrounds and varying needs.Â
Supervisory Responsibilities: None/possibly preceptorship/supervision of other roles.Â
Essential Duties/Responsibilities Â
- Possess comprehensive behavioral health skills to include, but not limited to mental health assessments; screenings and triage; pharmacological management; therapy/crisis intervention; organization and facilitation of psychoeducational and support groups; short-term case management; documentation; and referralsÂ
- Perform appropriate diagnostic and clinical assessments in evaluating patient behavioral health and medical care concernsÂ
- Identify, prioritize, and manage complex behavioral health and co-occurring problemsÂ
- Develop treatment plan in collaboration with the patient while monitoring their progressÂ
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team in collaboration with doctors, clinicians, nurses, medical assistants, case workers, education professionals, etc.Â
- Communicate and collaborate professionally and effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, service agencies, etc.Â
- Obtain the knowledge and technical skills to serve diverse populations (i.e. HIV/AIDS patients, Alzheimer’s, LGBTQ, etc.) along with cultural sensitivitiesÂ
- Act as a resource as well as utilize community resources to connect patients with social, economic, and medical access to specialized comprehensive resourcesÂ
- Offers services using various modalities, including in-person, telehealth, telephone, video, etc. that are clinically appropriate and meet the patients' needsÂ
- Complete all documentation required by DAP Health and the patient’s insurance in a timely mannerÂ
- Protect patient privacy following HIPAA standardsÂ
- Provide supervision of other behavioral health providers as assigned Â
- Attend and participate in scheduled meetingsÂ
- Perform additional job-related duties and responsibilities as requestedÂ
Qualifications
Required Skills/AbilitiesÂ
- Knowledge and basic skills in behavioral health and medical practices and methodsÂ
- Awareness and sensitivity to diverse multicultural communitiesÂ
- Excellent oral and written communication skillsÂ
- Effective interpersonal skillsÂ
Education and ExperienceÂ
- Current active and unrestricted State of California M.D. LicenseÂ
- Maintains California state licensure requirements regarding continuing educationÂ
- Board Certified in PsychiatryÂ
- Current valid Federal Controlled Substance Registration CertificateÂ
- Current BLS certification obtained through the American Heart Association or American Red CrossÂ
- Working with underserved populations preferredÂ
- Working in FQHC preferredÂ
- Working with children, adolescents, and adults preferred  Â
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferredÂ
Working Conditions/Physical RequirementsÂ
- This position is on-site at a DAP Health clinic with the option for hybridÂ
- Operates in an office/clinical setting and requires frequent times of sitting, standing, repetitive motion, and talking Â
- Requires current and valid driver’s license and current personal auto insurance  Â
- Able to travel to DAP Health locations throughout San Diego and Riverside for in person patient care and meetingsÂ
- Ability to lift 24 poundsÂ
