Responsibilities:
- The Registered Nurse is an essential member of the patient care team, responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care.
- In this role, the RN will be responsible for working alongside an interdisciplinary team to provide day-to-day care of children and adolescents, ages 6-18, on an inpatient Adolescent behavioral unit.
- The primary diagnosis' that are treated are major depression and ADD/ADHD.
- He/She will be responsible for medication administration and education, daily documentation of patient care and managing/monitoring behaviors throughout the unit.
- Additionally, the RN will participate in and lead education groups.
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in nursing required
- Valid State of Maine RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Experience:
- 1-3 years previous nursing experience working with adults preferred
- At least 1-year previous nursing experience required
- CPI Trained
- Other Skills Required:
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Communication on a variety of levels: Patient, families, providers, coworkers
- Ability to in (at time) stressful situations and manage stress appropriately
- Ability to set strong professional boundaries
- Dedicated team player
- Self-directed, able to stay busy in down time
