Software Engineer - GoLang (Contractual role)

AGolang Developer is responsible for building scalable, high-performance backend services that power Pocket FM's core platform. This role requires strong software engineering fundamentals, ownership, and the ability to develop reliable distributed systems that handle large-scale user traffic.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on backend engineer with experience in Golang, distributed systems, cloud technologies, and event-driven architectures. You will work closely with engineering teams on critical platform initiatives and contribute to building robust, production-ready services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services usingGolang.
• Build and optimize APIs, microservices, and distributed systems for high availability and performance.
• Contribute to key platform migration initiatives, including:
• Media Pipeline Migration to Temporal
• Communication Platform Migration
• Work withMySQL,Kafka, andAWS to build reliable, fault-tolerant systems.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
• Participate in system design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality software.
• Take end-to-end ownership of features—from development and testing to deployment and monitoring.
• Continuously improve code quality, developer productivity, and engineering processes.

Candidates who demonstrate:

• 2–3 years of hands-on experience in backend development usingGolang.
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Experience working withMySQL or other relational databases.
• Hands-on experience withAWS cloud services.
• Experience building event-driven systems usingKafka or similar messaging platforms.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and REST APIs.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of ownership.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
