Position Type:
- Perm
- Hybrid (3 days onsite)
- Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and 3 years of engineering work experience.
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience in relay protection and/or control systems engineering disciplines, required.
- Preferred Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 4 years of engineering work experience.
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience in relay protection and/or control systems engineering disciplines, required.
- Relevant Work Experience
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience in relay protection and/or control systems engineering disciplines, required.
- Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), required.
- Proficiency in using PSS/E CAPE, Aspen or equivalent fault study analysis tools, required.
- Experience with various microprocessor relay platforms and software, required.
- Ability to write engineering specifications and standards, preferred.

- Develops and delivers effective presentations
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc.

- Physical Demands
- Sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for the duration of the workday
- Stand to use/operate office equipment for the duration of the workday
- Additional Physical Demands
- Will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to travel throughout the company service territory and work at company locations as needed.
- Ability to wear the required PPE as needed.
- Ability to work in various indoor and outdoor conditions, and in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work in power plants and high voltage substations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop, test, implement, and maintain system standards, including philosophy documents, relay setting guides, templates, drawings, and test procedures.
- Research industry best practices and emerging technologies to support continuous improvement of established standards.
- Perform engineering analyses, evaluate new hardware and software solutions, and support the deployment of protection system upgrade initiatives.
- Support department efforts by implementing new strategies, initiatives, and processes to enhance the design, operation, and reliability of Systems.
- Provide technical support to other functions, including protection system asset management and remote monitoring and analytics of substation devices.
- Oversee vendor activities and perform technical reviews to ensure contractor work meets engineering standards and departmental requirements.
- Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to implement relay protection standards, obtain feedback, and manage expectations.
