Job Description
BAE Systems, one of the world's leading defense contractors and a stable
Fortune 500 Company, is seeking a motivated leader to provide hands-on
proposal management and support to strategic modernization proposals. The Proposal Manager will support the proposal development process, and ensure on-time delivery of compliant, and
well-written proposals. Major activities include driving capture teams for
superior readiness to bid, proposal planning, leading the development of
superior proposal products, and implementing a repeatable process across
the business. This role requires a thorough understanding of the US
Department of Defense Source Selection acquisition process.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities Include:
  • Lead and manage the proposal production for Holston production and facility proposals from Pre-Proposal Phase through Post-Proposal Phase
  • Plan and lead strategic discussions for production and facility proposals
  • Proactively communicate with proposal teams and business unit leadership to ensure all necessary resources and activities are available to achieve a successful proposal submission
  • Develop and maintain key critical customer interactions throughout the pre-proposal and post-proposal process
  • Communicate proposal-related requirements and status with senior management, and remain current on all amendments and modifications to the solicitation
  • Ensure strategy, technical solution, management approach, value propositions, and compliance are clearly articulated and consistent across proposal volumes
  • Demonstrate proposal process expertise and ability to tailor as appropriate
  • Support other proposal activities as needed by the Business Development Team
  • Oversee/produce proposal outlines, kickoff documentation,“Data Call” requests, proposal schedules, technical volumes, compliance matrices, proposal management plans, leadership briefings, gateway review briefings
  • Develop and maintain proposal schedules, and drive proposal team adherence to the schedule
  • Analyze Request for Proposal (RFP) documents, identify defined requirements and prepare USG communications on any RFIs
  • Serve as overflow for modernization proposals
  • Act as the main Point of Contract for a subset of Holston third party customers managing their customer accounts from quote through postdelivery
  • Coordinate third party quote requests of designated customers throughout the proposal process
  • Ensure timely and complete communication with internal departments for smooth processing of the third party external customer requests
  • Maintain sales database including the capture of all relevant information from external customers to support third party quotes and orders
  • Lead and prepare for customer visits, customer inquiries and routine engagements- Travel as necessary to customers
  • Lead continuous improvement activities as related to production proposals and third party quote responsiveness
  • Other duties as assigned
