Tax Manager

The Tax Manager leads all the indirect tax (VAT and payroll) matters for Europe, including the UK, Poland, Germany, Spain, Netherlands and other jurisdictions as needed. The Tax Manager will also be involved with income tax calculations for certain European locations. This role works primarily independently and reports key results to the Tax Director. This includes corporate, transactional, and payroll tax compliance and/or research. This role will partner with legal, other senior finance members, and third-party providers.
Job Duties & Responsibilites
- Assist with the completion of certain European corporate tax returns and tax provision including related analysis and oversight/coordination of third-party preparers.
- Manage relationship with third-party VAT specialists and advisors in the UK and other relevant jurisdictions.
- Assist with research and compliance with current and upcoming European tax law changes.
- Responsible for VAT compliance for Promethean LTD (including all LTD VAT registrations and branches, other than Italy) and Promethean European subsidiaries – including preparation, filing, workpapers, reconciliations, reviews, and oversight (specific responsibilities vary by jurisdiction).
- Support implementation and ongoing compliance activities related to Making Tax Digital initiative in the UK.
- Responsible for the annual PSA Filing and review of the benefits provided to the staff.
- Partner with Logistics/Operations/AP/AR with VAT questions and compliance issues as they arise.
- Calculate and monitor cash tax payments in the UK (as applicable).
- Maintain and manage the cyclical tax calendar by country and ensure compliance.
- Review the R&D Credit calculations in the UK.
- Other special projects and tax related research as needed (i.e. Pillar 2 and CBCR initiatives with NetDragon)
Job Skills and Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience
- ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified or equivalent.
- Demonstrates technical tax knowledge and experience.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
- International tax matters particularly international VAT tax experience preferred.
- IT literate with intermediate/advanced Excel skills required. General ledger/accounting software knowledge a plus.
