A. High School Diploma or Equivalent

Day-to-Day Responsibilities / Workload

Work with local agencies (Cities, Counties, Caltrans) to acquire construction permits within public ROW.

Responsible for securing permits required for work within the public right-of-way to support the installation, maintenance, and operation of utility facilities.

This role regularly coordinates and communicates with:

• Internal departments
• Government agencies
• Municipalities
• Other external stakeholders

Key responsibilities include:

• Obtaining approvals
• Ensuring compliance with permitting requirements
• Negotiating favorable permit conditions
• Serving as a key liaison throughout the permitting process
• Facilitating timely project execution
• Maintaining positive working relationships with regulatory and permitting authorities

Required Skills / Attributes

• One or more years of experience reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, plans, maps, and/or designs.
• Experience working within construction timelines and with various construction personnel and clients.
• Monitors and updates permit statuses, approvals, and expiration dates.
• Familiarity with building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
