Responsible for planning, teaching, and documenting learning goals and gains for English as a Second Language (ESL) students. Works closely with the Program Coordinators and Literacy Director to plan high-quality programs, maintain accurate student records, complete required CASAS testing and LEIS forms, and ensure all instructional activities align with YMCA standards. Assists in identifying and implementing new services/programs and supports fundraising efforts. Responsible for other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Service/Delivery
-
Plans and delivers engaging, safe, and effective ESL instruction to adult learners across multiple proficiency levelswhile following the established curriculum.

Implements YMCA character development, mission and quality initiatives into program and member service delivery.

Maintains accurate student progress records and classroom documentation, and submits attendance accurately and on time.

Administers CASAS pre- and post-tests and completes LEIS forms according to program and state requirements.

Coordinates with the Program Coordinators and Literacy Director to ensure instructional materials, resources, and curriculum align with best practices and WIOA guidelines.

Monitors classroom equipment, supplies, and learning materials; reports needs or purchases as directed.

Obtains and evaluates participant feedback; assists in making program improvements as directed.

Ensures the learning environment is welcoming, clean, safe, and supportive of diverse cultures.

Administrative/ Leadership
-
Meets all reporting and submission deadlines, including attendance, test scores, and LEIS documentation.

Attends required staff meetings, training and professional development sessions.
-
Ensures YMCA and program policies and procedures are followed and enforced.
-
Prepares program statistics, participation records, and testing data as directed.

Supports communication with students, participants, and community partners as needed.

Protects confidential student and program information at all times, ensuring that no sensitive details are disclosed to students or unauthorized individuals.

Volunteer Engagement
-
Assists with recruiting, training, and supporting ESL volunteers and tutors.

Provides volunteers with clear guidance, expectations, and ongoing support.
-
Helps ensure volunteers meet YMCA training and certification requirements.
Â
Fiscal Management
-
Ensures accuracy of bi-weekly payroll entries

Assists with the Annual Impact Fund Campaign, other fundraising activities and special events

Uses program resources responsibly and makes instructional adjustments as directed to support budget targets.
Qualifications
Â
QUALIFICATIONS
- Certificate or degree in TESOL, Education, Linguistics, English, or a related field required.
- Experience teaching or tutoring ESL learners required.
- Experience with CASAS testing, LEIS forms, or WIOA adult education programs preferred
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification required within 90 days of employment.
