The University of New Hampshire at Manchester seeks an Adjunct Instructor to teach the Transfer Seminar, a 1-credit online course designed to support students as they transition to and establish themselves at UNH Manchester. The course helps transfer students understand and navigate the university, connect with campus resources and communities, and develop practical strategies for academic, personal, and career success.

The Adjunct Instructor will create an inclusive, engaging learning environment that encourages students to actively participate, reflect on their experiences, develop connections to the university, and take ownership of their academic and personal success.

Duties/Responsibilities:

(75%) Teaching

  • Teach the Transfer Seminar according to the approved course description, learning outcomes, and course curriculum. Facilitate engaging, student-centered online sessions that address the academic, personal, and professional transition needs of transfer students.

(25%) Evaluation

  • Provide clear instructions, timely feedback, and appropriate support for course assignments and activities. Maintain accurate grading records and submit grades and other required documentation by established deadlines.

Requirements:

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:

  • Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, education, counseling, academic advising, or a related field, or a master's degree in another discipline with relevant professional experience.

  • Demonstrated experience working with college students, particularly transfer students, first-year students, or students navigating a significant educational transition.

  • Experience facilitating discussions, workshops, courses, orientation programs, or other student-development experiences.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and facilitation skills.

  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting a diverse student population and creating an inclusive learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching a first-year seminar, transfer seminar, student success course, or similar college-level course.

  • Experience working in academic advising, student affairs, career services, student services, orientation, or related areas within higher education.

  • Familiarity with UNH Manchester programs, services, policies, and student support resources.

Compensation Pay Range:

$1464 /course
