Senior Expert Designer, Speed Apparel Product Design:
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Minimum required years of experience: 10+ YOE in Apparel design, most recent roles were as individual contributors to work, is a "doer”
- Education requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Must have skills:
- Working with very quick to market products, working on projects with a 1 year out from now go to market timeline, creating in-line apparel products
- Creating apparel chassis - the silhouette and base shape of apparel piece, pulling on current trends and getting to market
- Portfolios: Shows a collection that has gone to market from sketch to final product, has personal taste outside of the brands taste/style guides
Nice to have skills:
- Experience in Mens and womens, Street wear, and performance wear - basketball, training, global football, and golf
- Collaborating with internal and external graphic designers and color designers, highly organized and strong communication skills
Software/technical requirements:
- Ai experience
- Previous industry experience preference: Yes

- We're looking for an exceptional Senior Expert Designer to bring their experience, craftsmanship, problem-solving abilities, and above all, creativity to design industry-defining apparel on insanely fast timelines. The ideal candidate is highly creative, with an exceptional eye for silhouette, style, method of make, and a strong understanding of lifestyle and performance attributes. You'll obsess over the importance of details and believe that only the best product design—the kind that genuinely WOWs consumers—earns a Jumpman. The ideal candidate will elevate the art of apparel design by blending expertise in digital tools with craftsman-level making and construction skills, using renderings and physical samples to persuasively communicate ideas and concepts at the highest level.
What You Will Work On:
- Your goal is to push revolutionary aesthetics in apparel design, partnering closely with small cross-functional teams and making quick decisions to drive the future of Jordan Design. You will work across a range of designs, pushing creative boundaries with speed and efficiency. Your work encompasses concepting and ideating through the lens of the Jordan consumer; creating apparel concepts digitally and physically; finalizing tech packs; collaborating closely with Merchants, Technical Development, and cross-functional Design teams; and working with manufacturing and external partners to ensure the continuity and fidelity of your vision and story through to the consumer. Your focus on making Jordan the market leader will drive innovation and future aesthetics—not only through the product itself, but through the way Jordan creates product—to unleash future-leading designs that truly disrupt the competition. The daily responsibilities of this role are wide-ranging, demanding, rewarding, and exciting. As a Senior Principal Designer in Speed Apparel Product Design, you will have the opportunity to learn new skills, hone existing ones, explore new methods of make, and push the boundaries of Jordan Design.
Who You Will Work With:
- You'll work with a broad range of different projects, and collaborate within the design community (color, graphics, PLM etc.), to bring to life energetic, creative ideas through apparel. This role will report directly to the Global Senior Director of Speed.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in design or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience or training
- 10+ years of relevant work experience in apparel design
- Ability to think strategically about product relevance, product positioning, timing, and collections
- Strong knowledge of fashion, design, and Lifestyle trends -Ability to build seasonal concepts, and provide the team with both short and long-term vision
- Proficient ability to apply and perform industrial design skills, including drawing/sketching, ideation, color theory, use of textiles, spacing and scale, visual presentation development and layout that is supported by a portfolio of non-computer based creative design.
- Digital design competence in Adobe CC and comfortable working within Digital tools/3D -Strong communication and presentation skills
- Apparel construction, draping, patternmaking, and prototyping skills are a plus
- ai design programs experience is a plus
- Strong sketching, illustration, and rendering skills
- Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
- Must be able to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each project
- Knowledge and experience with sustainable design and manufacturing are a plus
- Experienced with presentation programs: Keynote, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
