Privacy / Data Protection Analyst II
Salt Lake City, UT (Onsite2-3 days per week/Hybrid)
Contract Rate: $30.00 - $40.00per hr.
Contract Duration: Up to 3 Years- potential to be contract to hire
We are seeking a Privacy Data Protection Analyst to strengthen privacy, cybersecurity, and compliance practices for a healthcare data environment. This permanent role will help identify security and privacy gaps, coordinate remediation, and support the growing number of privacy and information-security controls required across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess data privacy and cybersecurity practices for gaps, risks, and control requirements.
- Support the implementation and ongoing management of privacy and security frameworks.
- Coordinate remediation activities with privacy, information security, and technical teams.
- Help define, document, and monitor data-protection controls.
- Support risk assessments, compliance reviews, and security/privacy audits.
- Partner with internal privacy and information-security offices on governance and control alignment.
- Assist with access-control, data-protection, and policy-related initiatives.
- Track control maturity and contribute to continuous improvement of the organization's security and privacy posture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of directly related experience, or Master's degree plus 4 years of directly related experience.
- Strong cybersecurity knowledge and practical technical security skills.
- Familiarity with privacy principles, privacy policies, and data-protection requirements.
- Experience identifying security or privacy gaps and coordinating corrective actions.
- Understanding of security controls, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
- Ability to work across technical, security, privacy, and business teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background that combines cybersecurity expertise with privacy-policy knowledge.
- Experience in healthcare, higher education, research, or another regulated environment.
- Familiarity with privacy and information-security governance frameworks.
- Experience supporting audits, control assessments, or remediation programs.
- Experience working with sensitive or restricted data.
