Job Title:Claims Analyst

The Claims Analyst plays a vital role in any Home Warranty Claims Department. You will be processing and approving claims that are filed by the homeowner. You will be making sure the policy terms are followed and understood to ensure the claim meets coverage limits. The best candidate will have the ability to diagnose mechanical failures on appliances and systems. Claim approval amounts are processed based on the Model number of the existing units or using research online for comparable parts/labor costs. Outbound calling to homeowners and contractors.
What You Will Do As A Claims Analyst
- Handle inbound calls from contract holders to follow up on an existing claim.
- Communicate home warranty information effectively.
- Notate claim information accurately into the database.
- Provide follow-up information to customers as needed.
- Prior mechanical knowledge of the systems throughout the home (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.) or the ability to research and learn how these systems work.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical failures of appliances and systems.
- Ability to read and navigate each policy and their terms. Eventually memorize whatās covered/not covered in each. Apply the terms and conditions to real life estimates/invoices from contractors.Ā
- Ability to negotiate labor and part costs with service providers.
- Working efficiently in a high paced Claims department to keep volume down throughout each season. Collaborate and learn with a team to manage tasks.
- Prior experience in other claims departments or the internal claims department. Preferably 3 months experience inbound learning how the process works and getting to know the department/policy.
- Other duties as assigned.
