Temporary Nutrition Van Driver

Job Description:

Performs support work in the County's food service program for older citizens.  The work involves delivering meals to the county's senior centers when staff is absent. The work requires the ability to operate vehicles and to follow instructions.  Work is reviewed by a supervisor.

Essential Job Functions

Drives a county vehicle to pick up items from a contracted food caterer, such as bulk food coolers, Meals on Wheels coolers, and bulk food containers for senior centers and Meals on Wheels delivery sites.

Verifies meal counts.

Delivers food, mail, and supplies to senior centers and Meals on Wheels drop-off points.

Picks up empty coolers and insulated containers and signs for donation receipts.

Returns to Calvert Pines Senior Center; delivers mail to secretary; signs over donation receipts to supervisor.

Maintains the exterior and interior of the county vehicle.

Other Duties

Performs related work as required.

Training and/or Education:

Completion of the tenth grade. 

Experience:

No experience needed. 

Licenses or Certificates:

Valid driver’s license.

Special Requirements:

Must be 18 years of age.Operation of County owned vehicle. 

Physical Demands:

Requires strenuous physical effort to perform manual work involving repeated bending, climbing, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or lifting objects up to 50 pounds. 

Unusual Demands:

May be asked to work on short notice.

Nonexempt 

Compensation Steps:

Pay rate: $15.69 per hour

Temporary position, 10 hours per week
