As a service professional Bon Vivant will be one of the most challenging restaurants you will ever work in. You will endure extreme weather & working conditions, long hours, and relentless guests with extraordinary needs. Here is a brief synopsis of what it takes to be a team member of Bon Vivant:

• Bon Vivant is weather dependent. We are open 7 days a week for lunch service. If there is a weather event we may open partially, or close all together.

• If we do close BV because of weather you may be asked to work at another outlet on the mountain. This is not an optional shift; if another outlet needs our assistance we will be there for them.

• BV opening day is sometime in early December, last day is early April.

• The day starts at 8:30am and ends about 5:00pm.

• Service starts at 11:00am sharp and ends at 3:30pm

• You must be able to pass an on-mountain ski and/or snowboard assessment for this position.

If you have never Skied or Snowboarded you do not qualify for this position.

To be a server at Bon Vivant you must have these attributes:

• Attitude - fresh, optimistic, enthusiastic, and service-laced - you are here to serve our guests and provide them with an exceptional dining experience.

• Aptitude - you need to be able to think quickly on your feet, make smart decisions, and learn our menu inside and out.

• Adaptability - you won't be successful flying solo- you will be a functioning member of a team, and you need to be willing to lend a helping hand to any teammate at any time.

• Availability - we have a variety of shifts available. Most of our teammates work 30-40 hours per week including weekends; flexibility is key. Open availability preferred.

At least 2 years serving experience in a full service restaurant is required for this position. Knowledge of French cuisine and general familiarity of wine is a major plus.

The job includes but not limited to:

• Endure extreme variance of weather conditions, and dress accordingly for all conditions

• Lifting heavy objects repeatedly

• Shoveling snow and chipping ice

• Ensure uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets

• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, and support team to reach common goals

• Proper trash and recycling practices

• Able to use restaurant equipment responsibility

• Able to handle 3-6 table sections accurately and consistently

• Clearly understand the needs of your guests and be able to provide service at a high level

• Able to take orders in a timely manner and account for all orders properly and accurately

• Prepare food, coffee and other beverages, including accurate wine pours

• Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen

• Assure your guests have the proper utensils and plates as needed throughout the meal

• Able to use POS systems accordingly, and accurately be able to complete cash transactions

• Full knowledge of all menu items, wines by the glass, beers, and signature drinks

• Help the clear between every course and reset every table

• Maintain knowledge of all coming courses and communications between your team members

• Table maintenance, and attention to detail throughout the guests experience

• Run each course throughout the day and maintain timing and consistency

• Finish all opening and closing duties on a deadline basis

If you have never Skied or Snowboarded, you do not qualify for this position.

You must be able to ski or snowboard at intermediate level or above. You will have to pass an on-snow skills assessment before you will be able to work. Employment is contingent on passing this assessment. 

The pay rate for this position is $14.81/hr. This position does have the ability to earn tips.
