Role summary:
The Technician, Facility Services, Low Voltage, is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining low voltage systems including security, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/visual, and network cabling. This role ensures system reliability through inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades while adhering to technical standards and safety protocols. The position requires effective communication with clients and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver timely, high-quality solutions. Additionally, the technician manages vehicle maintenance and documentation, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and upholds company policies and ethical standards to contribute to operational excellence.
About the team:
The Low Voltage Technician team is dedicated to installing, configuring, and maintaining systems including security, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/video, and network cabling. Collaborating closely with project managers and engineers, the team ensures projects are completed on time and meet quality standards while following safety and regulatory requirements. Team members provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, perform system upgrades, and maintain accurate records. Emphasizing effective communication and continuous improvement, the team delivers reliable low voltage solutions in a professional setting, using collaboration and problem-solving to meet business objectives efficiently and accurately.
What you'll do:

Install, configure, and support low voltage systems including security, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/visual, and network cabling.
Run, terminate, label, and test cabling per project requirements and industry standards.
Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and functional testing to ensure system reliability.
Diagnose and resolve system faults and outages to minimize downtime.
Repair or replace components and restore systems to optimal condition.
Evaluate and upgrade systems for improved performance and compliance.
Maintain accurate records and generate reports on system activities.
Provide technical support and training to end users.
Collaborate with teams to ensure timely, high-quality project completion.
Operate and maintain assigned vehicles safely and in compliance with regulations.

What you'll bring:

Proven experience installing, configuring, and supporting low voltage systems including security, fire alarms, CCTV, and network cabling.
Strong ability to run, terminate, label, and test cabling per technical specifications and industry standards.
Skilled in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving system faults to minimize downtime.
Experience performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and system upgrades to ensure reliability and compliance.
Ability to maintain accurate records and generate detailed reports on system performance and maintenance activities.
Effective communication skills to provide technical support and collaborate with teams and stakeholders.

The hourly wage range for this position is $29.00 - $58.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

High school diploma or equivalent.
Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations within the last three (3) years.
Commercial driving record with no preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle within the last three (3) years.
Commercial driving record with no serious traffic violations, as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, within the last three (3) years.
Ability to successfully complete a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and obtain medical certification valid for at least one (1) year.
As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language.
Option 1: 1 year’s experience in electrical, material handling equipment, or related technical trade. Option 2: 2 years’ Walmart store experience.
Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
Experience in local electrical codes and standards.
