JOB SUMMARY   

The primary purpose of this position is to develop and train world-class best practices in pre-billing, billing, collections, and accounts receivable functions in the home health and hospice industry. 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES   

  • Support the accounts receivable functions under the supervision of the Learning and Development Leader.  
  • Train,monitor, and update the policies and procedures surrounding the revenue cycle, accounts receivable, and current government regulations for home health and hospice.  
  • Assist agencies in the development and use of accounting policies and procedures, andestablish a great rapport in and between departments so that each can realize the importance ofaccurate reporting procedures. 
  • Partner with RC Portfolio Leaders to develop training opportunities for staff, further enhancing the impact of the portfolios and the company.  
  • Partners withExecutive Directors and/orRC PortfolioLeadersto provide training to Billers and Billing Managers.    
  • Utilizes ticketing software to track trends of support/education needs.  
  • Develop andmaintain reporting metrics toidentify agencies that needadditional support through training and education—developing plans with EDs and RCPLs to enhance the field results. 
  • Pioneeringthe creation of best practicesfor Service Center and Field in a manner that is easy to understand and adopt into practice. Create methods that are engaging and easy to absorb.  
  • Establishes andmaintains positive and collaborative workingrelationships withAR ServiceCenterResources, Billers/Billing Managers, otherRC Portfolio Leaders, andpayors.     
  • Maintains a comprehensive working knowledge of payor contracts and ensures that agencies are billing and collecting according to contract provisions, and adjusts training courses accordingly. 
  • Protects the confidentiality of patient and agency information through effectivecontrolsand combined efforts with billing operations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • At least three years’ experience in health care billing and collections management
  • Experience inhome health and/or hospice operations​
  • Demonstrated experience in LMS development with configuration skills.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment anddemonstrateeffective communication, negotiation, and publicrelationsskills.      
  • Demonstrated capability to manage detailed information accurately.     
  • Ability to work tactfully and collaboratively with colleagues, peers, servicecenterpersonnel, referralsources, and payers.   
  • Demonstrates ingenuity,autonomy, assertiveness,flexibility, and cooperation inperforming job responsibilities.    
  • Experience with inHome Care Home Base, Waystar, Availity, Medicare Administration Contractors (MACs) portals, etc., with the ability to train staff in software systems and processes.
