The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse provides advanced nursing care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents. The role involves continuous patient assessment, management of ventilated and high-acuity pediatric patients, administration and titration of critical medications, and rapid response to emergencies. The PICU RN collaborates closely with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams while supporting patients and families in a high-stress environment.
Requirements include an active California RN license, a minimum of two years of recent PICU experience, and current BLS and PALS certifications. Preferred qualifications include ACLS, NRP, and pediatric critical care certifications. The position requires strong critical-thinking skills, proficiency with ICU equipment, and the ability to work 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced critical care setting.
