Job Description:

Supplier Performance Management Support

• Supporting supplier performance management activities for the Consumer Business Group in the Americas region.
• Monitoring supplier performance metrics and helping identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Supporting supplier performance reviews, issue resolution, and follow-up actions with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Partnering with 3M supply chain, procurement, planning, manufacturing, and quality teams to help address supplier-related performance concerns.
• Assisting in the preparation of supplier scorecards, dashboards, review materials, and performance reports.
• Supporting supply continuity efforts by tracking supplier issues, escalations, and corrective action progress.

Process Improvement and Execution

• Supporting the execution of supplier performance improvement initiatives for assigned suppliers, plants, or categories.
• Assisting with implementation of standardized supplier performance management and measurement processes.
• Helping maintain supplier risk and performance data to support decision-making.
• Collaborating with Strategic Sourcing, Packaging Solutions, manufacturing, and planning teams to align supplier performance actions with business priorities.
• Participating in root cause analysis, corrective action tracking, and continuous improvement activities.
• Supporting projects focused on improving supplier reliability, responsiveness, quality, and service levels.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires, at a minimum, the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline, completed and verified prior to start.
• Five to seven years of experience in procurement, supplier management, supply chain, manufacturing operations, quality or a related field in a private, public, government, or military environment.

Additional Qualifications That Could Help You Succeed Even Further

• Experience working with suppliers in raw materials procurement, packing materials procurement, outsourced manufacturing or manufacturing-based industries.
• Exposure to manufacturing processes such as coating, molding, assembly, conversion, mixing, filling, or packaging operations.
• Understanding of supplier performance metrics, scorecards, corrective action processes, and continuous improvement methods.
• Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work with cross-functional and global teams across different time zones.
• Experience supporting supplier reviews, performance reporting, or supply issue resolution.
• Working knowledge of procurement, planning, quality, or supply chain systems and processes.
• Proactive, detail-oriented approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Project coordination or process improvement experience preferred.
