Your Impact:Ā 

We are seeking aself-motivated, detail-oriented OSP Engineer to manage engineering efforts related toroad moves, highway widening, and public infrastructure projects. This role requires close coordination withstate/local agencies, DOT, utility companies, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure the timely and efficient relocation or protection of telecom infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has astrong engineering background, the ability towork independently in a remote environment, and excellent communication skills to support projects from design through construction.


Core Responsibilities

  • Lead OSP engineering tasks forroad move and highway widening projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.

  • Coordinate withDOT, municipalities, utilities, and contractors to align relocation plans with road construction schedules.

  • Performfield surveys, site walks, and impact assessments on aerial, buried, and underground infrastructure.

  • Developengineering designs, construction packages, and relocation plans for fiber/copper cable, pole transfers, conduit adjustments, and related facilities.

  • Providecost estimates, materials lists, and project timelines.

  • Serve as theprimary engineering contact during planning, permitting, and construction phases.

  • Maintain accurate documentation:as-builts, CAD drawings, GIS updates, and permit packages.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally withConstruction, Planning, and Permitting teams.

  • Ensure compliance withRUS, NESC, and company design standards.


Core Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree inEngineering, Telecommunications, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 3–5+ years OSP Engineering experience, ideally withroadway relocation or utility coordination projects.

  • Strong knowledge ofOSP design (aerial & underground), construction methods, and permitting.

  • Experience working withstate DOTs, municipalities, and 3rd-party contractors.

  • Proficiency inAutoCAD, GIS, Microsoft Office, and OSP design software.

  • Excellentproject management, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability towork independently in field environments and manage multiple priorities.

  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to respond tochanging project demands.

  • Stronglistening skills with the ability to follow directions and apply feedback effectively.

  • May assist withtraining and onboarding new team members.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience withDOT projects and utility coordination on large-scale road or infrastructure efforts.

  • Knowledge ofROW (Right-of-Way) regulations and permitting processes.

  • Familiarity withfiber optic splicing, restoration, and network design.

  • Experience with systems such asARAMIS, LFACS, MIC, WALDO, and TIRKS.


Work Environment & Requirements

  • Remote role with requiredfieldwork (site surveys & construction coordination).

  • Candidate must residewithin 1 hour of Lafayette, LA
