Organizational Background
PAX sapiens is a US-based international grant and operating foundation with the mission of preventing predictable global catastrophes. Our three primary lines of effort are 1) pandemic prevention, 2) preventing armed conflict between the US and China and 3) nuclear risk reduction. We also administer Our Secure Future, which works to strengthen the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda to build a more peaceful word through ensuring women’s full participation in governance.
Project Overview
PAX sapiens seeks proposals from qualified consultants or firms to conduct a focused strategic landscape assessment related to impact in peace and security philanthropy.
The selected contractor will assess relevant schools of thought, frameworks, and practitioner communities and provide analysis to inform organizational strategy and learning.
Scope of Work
The contractor will:
- Conduct a targeted review of relevant literature and frameworks.
- Engage selected stakeholders through interviews and/or consultations.
- Analyze findings and identify key themes, areas of alignment and divergence, and strategic implications.
- Deliver a written summary of findings.
- Facilitate a discussion with PAX sapiens staff regarding findings and implications.
Deliverables
At minimum, the engagement should include:
- Project workplan.
- Strategic assessment report.
- Facilitated discussion of findings with staff.
Proposal Submission Requirements
To minimize preparation burden, respondents should submit:
- Consultant or organization name and contact information.
- Summary of relevant experience (1 page maximum).
- Brief description of proposed approach (1-2 pages maximum).
- Total proposed budget and fee structure.
