Accounting Manager (GAAP, Month-End Close, QuickBooks, Payroll – Remote, U.S. Hours)

About the Role

We’re hiring anAccounting Manager to ownmonth-end close, financial reporting, payroll, and core accounting operations across complex, multi-entity environments.

This is ahands-on, execution-focused role for someone who thrives on accuracy, understandsaccrual-based accounting (GAAP), and can managemulti-entity financial workflows with confidence.

Responsibilities

Month-End Close & Financial Reporting

• Execute accurate and timelymonth-end close processes
• Preparefinancial statements and reports aligned with client requirements
• Maintain clean, structuredworkpapers and documentation
• Ensure compliance withGAAP standards and reporting timelines

Payroll & Employee Setup

• Process payroll using systems likeGusto, ADP, or Paylocity
• Manageemployee onboarding in payroll systems
• Ensure compliance withU.S. payroll regulations

Core Accounting Operations

• Oversee:
• Accounts Payable (AP)
• Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Maintaingeneral ledger accuracy across multiple entities
• Manage daily accounting activities with strong attention to detail

Sales Tax & Compliance

• Calculate and fileU.S. state sales tax accurately and on time
• Maintain proper documentation fortax filings and compliance

Reporting, Analysis & Forecasting

• Build and maintaincustom financial reports
• Supportbudgeting and forecasting processes
• Provide financial insights and data fordecision-making

Process Improvement & Documentation

• Review and document existing accounting processes
• Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements
• Standardize workflows across systems and clients

Client & Internal Coordination

• Communicate with leadership on priorities and timelines
• Supportclient-facing financial communication when needed
• Ensure alignment on reporting expectations and deliverables

Requirements (Must-Have)

• 5+ years of experience inaccounting or finance
• Strong experience with:
• Accrual accounting / GAAP financials
• Experience managingmulti-entity or multi-location accounting
• Proficiency in:
• QuickBooks Online (or Desktop/Enterprise)
• AdvancedExcel skills:
• XLOOKUP
• INDEX/MATCH
• Pivot Tables
• Data analysis
• Experience withpayroll systems (Gusto or similar)
• Experience withU.S. sales tax filings
• Strong written and verbalEnglish communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience withNetSuite
• Familiarity with:
• ADP / Paylocity
• Ramp / Bill.com
• Experience withtime-tracking tools (Clockify or similar)
• Background inoutsourced accounting firms
