17.77 USD HourlyAssist Cooks and Chefs by preparing ingredients, keeping the kitchen clean and orderly, and by performing some simple prep and cooking functions as assigned according to the menu and recipes. This position reports to the Executive Chef.Job Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSÂ
Prepare and cook food items according to recipes, daily menus, and supervisor instructions.Â
Take temperatures at regular intervals andmaintain foods in sufficient quantities while minimizing production waste.Â
Assist inmaintaining kitchen sanitation and equipment cleaning schedule.Â
Adhere to food safety guidelines includingServSafe and HACCP.Â
Attend andparticipate in safety meetings.Â
Performs such other related duties as directed orrequired.Â

SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDEÂ
Partial High School education.High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent preferred.Â
Able to competently and efficiently prep food including cutting fruits, vegetables, and meats with ease and accuracy.Â
Possess or be able to successfully completeServSafe certification.Â
Strong sanitation skillsa must.Â
Possess knowledge of or be able to learn culinary terms and practices; able to prepare basic items by following recipes.Â

 PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTSÂ
Move aboutto accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit.Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder heightfrequently; move in a constantly changing environment.Â
Lift, carry, and push up to15 lbs. regularly, 20-30 lbs.frequently, and up to 50lbs. occasionally.Â
Able to withstand temperature extremes in freezer, walk-in refrigerator, and cooking areas.Â
Able to stand for extended periods and climb steps regularly while carrying heavyload.Â
Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of co-workers and the ability to speak clearlyto be understood bysame in English.Â
Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties.Â
