Patient Services Specialist- Fort Mill 12-Hour OUC

We are currently searching for a Patient Services Specialist to work with our OrthoCarolina Fort Mill, SC 12-Hr Orthopedic Urgent Care team. This position will average 30 hours per week.The schedule would alternate as follows:

• Week1: Three12-hour shifts
• Week2:Two12-hour shifts

The Patient Services Specialist greets patients, prepares forms, collects, verifies and enters patient information into EPIC necessary for the timely and accurate processing of patient claims. 

Essential Functions: 

• Prepares paperwork necessary for the patient visit. 

• Answers incoming phone calls and directs calls, makes appointments, performs Cashier duties as directed including posting of charges, 

• Collection of co-payments/co-insurance and balances due. 

• Follows the process for release of medical information and FMLA/disability forms completion as requested. 

Skills and Abilities: 

• Excellent customer service skills 

• Working knowledge of insurance 

• Epic/EMR background a plus 

• Medical terminology  

Qualifications: 

• High school graduate and/or associate or bachelor's degree   

• Prefer minimum of one year experience in medical clinic setting.
