Ohio State University Postdoctoral Scholar in Extremism andPersuasion

We are seeking one postdoctoral scholar to join our team starting as soon as October 1, 2026. This position will support an individual interested in examining the psychology of extremism and persuasion. The appointed scholar will primarily work with Professor Richard E. Petty, with opportunities to collaborate with other OSU faculty, postdoctoral fellows and graduate students.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Completed doctoral degree in psychology or a related field by the startdate.

• Strong theoretical or practical background in experimental design, data analysis, and scientific writing. Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS, Python) and survey tools (e.g., Qualtrics).

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research setting. Record of peer-reviewed publications or manuscripts in preparation.
