2.Perform Healing Touch Techniques to assist patient in meeting comfort and relaxation needs.

3.Document andcommunicate with hospital caregivers about treatment provided forpatientcare.

4.PerformHealing Touchskillscompetentlyandindependentlytoassurepatientsafety(autonomy).

•  Abletocompetentlyperformtechnicalskillsindependently.

• Demonstratecorrectandsafetechniqueintheuseofequipmentaccordingtospecificproductinformationandpolicyand procedure manuals.

• ProvideHealingTouchtreatmentstopatients.

• DocumentHealingTouchtreatmentsinthe EHR.

• ManageHealingTouchconsults.

• EvaluateandmakeimprovementstotheprocessforinitiatingandcompletingHealingTouchtreatments.

• CommunicateandcollaboratewiththeinterdisciplinaryteamtoidentifyandtreatpatientswithHealingTouchandupdatewith response to treatment.

• ParticipateincommunityoutreachprogramstoincreaseawarenessofHealingTouchatMethodistandWomen’shospitals.

Schedule:

This is a casual position. Casual employees work on an ‘as needed’ basis to meet the needs of the business. Work days/hours will often vary from week to week.

JobRequirements

Education

• High school diploma required.

• Completion of Healing Touch Course 1 required.

• Successful completion of annual mandatory educationrequirements.

• Completion of Healing Touch Course 2 required within 6 months ofhire.

• Completion of 4 hours of continuing education related to Healing Touch annually required.

Experience

• Six months experience inpatient hospital setting preferred.

• One year of Healing Touch experience preferred.

License/Certifications

• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Strong interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate and interact with patients, family members, hospital personnel, and co-workers.

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize workassignments.

• Ability to learn, retain, and utilize computer skills that are required for department and hospital informationsystem.
