Part-Time lecturer for DF5002 Cinematography 2

The School of Art, Design and Media (ADM) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, invites qualified candidates to apply for aPart-Time Lecturer for DF5002 Cinematography 2. The Part-Time Lecturer is expected to teach an undergraduate core course commencing in January 2027.

Cinematography 2 is a 13-week course that expands and develops on the skills and concepts from Cinematography 1. A critical analysis of advanced aesthetics and techniques of cinematography through analysis of important films and cinematographers will prepare students for the role of director of photography in the film and television area to be best prepared for their FYP graduation film.

Candidates will possess expertise in overseeing students' projects related to digital filmmaking, from initial concepts, screenwriting, production and post-production to final image color grading. Candidates will need to be able to guide students in exploring the possibilities of cinematography beyond its current forms. This could include anything from traditional scripted filmmaking, serialized content, non-scripted content and short-format videos.

Successful candidates will have a relevant Master’s and/or PhD in Cinematography or related field with a track record of creative practice in film production. Past teaching experience at Undergraduate Level is preferred. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Film Production or related field and sufficient and relevant industry experience may also be considered in exceptional cases.
