Senior Full Stack Engineer (Python & Next.js)

We are looking for aSenior Full Stack Engineerto support the Reference Data Team. The Reference Data Team aligns with Investment Systems Engineering, bringing entity, portfolio, and security reference data closer to the investment lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications supporting reference data management and investment-related workflows
• Build robust backend services, APIs, and data-processing components
• Develop intuitive, responsive frontend interfaces for data management, validation, search, review, and operational workflows
• Create solutions supporting the management and distribution of entity, portfolio, and security reference data
• Help establish reliable data relationships between investment entities, funds, portfolios, securities, issuers, counterparties, and related financial instruments
• Support workflows such as reference data onboarding, enrichment, validation, approval, reconciliation, and downstream distribution
• Collaborate with investment and operations stakeholders to understand how reference data supports the investment lifecycle
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and, where appropriate, event-driven integrations
• Integrate reference data services with internal investment platforms, data warehouses, and enterprise applications
• Work with relational databases and data services to enable efficient data access and processing
• Implement data transformation, validation, and synchronization processes across systems

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Python development
• Proficiency in Next.js, React, and TypeScript
• Skills in containerization using Docker, including deploying applications as containers with Ubuntu-based images
• Familiarity with FastAPI
• Expertise in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and, where appropriate, event-driven integrations using Kafka
• Solid knowledge of SQL and relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or equivalent
• Background in data modeling, data validation, and integration patterns
• Competency working with Kubernetes clusters
• Strong commitment to test automation, including robust unit and manual integration testing
• Familiarity with agile teams working on complex, high-stakes applications
• Collaborative mindset, with a commitment to code reviews and peer learning
• Comfortable working with teams across the globe
• Understanding of Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence
• English proficiency at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher

Nice to have

• Experience with GitHub Actions, Jira ↔ GitHub integrations, and DevOps best practices
• Prior exposure to financial services or capital market domains
• System design expertise across microservices, database modeling, and API design
• Experience leading refactoring or redesign initiatives
• Ability to architect for resiliency, compliance, and auditability
