ABOUT THE ROLEÂ

Home Care Workers provide services to our customers who live in their own homes. You will providehigh quality care and support servicesin accordance with theindividual needs and wishes of each older person and, in doing so, you will enable them to remain living at home independently.Â
As a Home Care Worker, you will provideexcellent customer service. You will follow the tasks as directed per the Support Plan, such as personal care, generalhousekeeping andassistance. The role is to deliver services withcompassion,integrity and dignity.Â
We are looking for proactive, energetic, empathetic individuals to undertake the following tasks;Â
You will be providing support to clients with domesticassistance duties such as cleaning,laundry and meal preparation.Â
You willassist clients with personal care support including, showering, toileting and feedingassistance.Â
You willprovide assistancetoyour clients with transportation, e.g.to appointments,shopping and leisure outings.Â
You will build andmaintain strong and effective relationships with clients and their families.Â
You will adhere to health and safety guidelines and policies to keep yourself and our clients safe.Â

Essential RequirementsÂ
Certificate III in Aged, Community Care or equivalentÂ
Current driver licenseÂ
Reliable vehicle (including valid registration with minimal 3rd Party Insurance)Â
HomeCare experience Â
Current First Aid Certificate Â

You will haveÂ
An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote, support and model the Christian values and ethos of The Salvation ArmyÂ
Motivation to work with older people living in the community and an understanding of their needs and of consumer directed careÂ
Strong customer service focus andgood time management skillsÂ
Ability to work independently and safely in a client’s homeÂ
Good communication skills, including fluency in written and spoken EnglishÂ
Computer literacy and experience with documentation  Â
